Joe Biden is ally of RIAA..

I never cared for Joseph Biden, and now I like him even less.

A recent article in RAIN, Kurt Hanson's newsletter, talked about Biden's desire to
increase penalties for P2P file sharing and his pro-RIAA agenda. He has a history of supporting
such garbage as the PERFORM Act, which allows royalties to be determined by an a system that determines "fair market value," not the public good.

Fay finally is going away..

It's been a wet weekend in these parts!

Tropical Storm Fay, having covered most of the state of Florida with her wet self during the past week, began to affect our weather late last week.

Schools were closed on Friday. Reports of downed limbs, trees and power outages were reported
almost minute-by-minute on the online version of our local newspaper.

And it rained. And rained.

Our roof tarp blew off, leaving us with our ever-present leaking bathroom ceiling. The wall in the boys' room is beginning to disintegrate and separate from the floor. The floor is slowly sinking in at the front door.

But we are safe.

This storm did leave a fatality in our area, as Talquin County lineman Curtis King lost his life while working to restore power. Today, there was a report that a 12 year old boy drowned in a drainage ditch up in Cairo, Georgia.

Tallahassee has some cleaning up to do. As do we, as we discovered that a neighbor's oak tree had crashed into what used to be Gramma's garden area. Perhaps I can post some pics here at a later time.

We needed rain..but we're not sad to see Fay get out of Dodge!

Just Got Back From Tennessee..

We took our vacation this past week by going to Marianne's family's reunion, which was held in Pigeon Forge at Sherwood Firest Resort.

I enjoyed being there. The mountain roads..that's anothet story. It took almost an entire box of Bonine to keep my stomach settled during the trip. And a ginger ale, on the way there.

The cabin was cool, with four levels, a porch on every level, a movie theater, hot tub, and game room. I liked our room - it had a door leading out onto the porch.

A lot of folks had some kind of stomach bug - seemed to be passed around to a lot of family members. I haven't had it - yet. Both the boys had it, as did Marianne and Robby.

But all in all, it was a lot of fun and I enjoyed it. Maybe I'll get some pics on here later.

Just wanted to check in since I didn't write at all while we were gone. Matter of fact, I vowed to stay off the internet the whole time - and did.
