Back to Tennessee...

Marianne decided that this year she wanted to take her birthday week off from work
and make a trip to Tennessee to spend time with her parents.

We packed up the boys and headed off to Tennessee. Destination: Madisonville.

The leaves were just beginning to turn, so the views were beautiful.

Marianne's sister, Nancy, and her son, Clay, came to visit during much of our week there. Nancy homeschools Clay, so we enjoyed exchanging ideas and resources that we are using in our own
homeschooling for Benjamin and Daniel.

We discovered a couple of fall festivals in Tennessee, both near Madisonville, and took the boys to them. We also went and explored Fort Loudoun and the Sequoyah Museum. We were able
to get some brochures to place in the boys' learning books so they can remember the things they saw there. We also took lots of pictures.

Daniel is still asleep this morning, which is the only reason I am writing this post in the morning hours. He must be worn out.

I came back with lots of ideas to use in homeschooling; we also brought back Marianne's table saw, to help us with some remodeling (especially since sister Nancy urged Marianne to take it home, as Grandpa Barton cut his finger with it a few months ago!)

Since last January, we had already begun a lot of sprucing up of the property. Now that Marianne has her tools back, we can tackle more this winter.
